First Copic colored image and card!!

posted on: 3.04.2011

Hello Bloggers,

Well i have been messing around with my copics for a while know but sadly Ive been using the back of DCWV patterned paper LOL!!! I have yet to receive my Neenah paper from 7kidscollegefund. I ordered it on the 26th and its still not here. I got a shipping conformation today saying it was shipped today. I even payed extra for priority mail LOL. It should've been here by know i would of thought. Anyways, the card you see on the left (click image to enlarge) is my first ever colored copic image i got from TGF. Its a digi image and can be found HERE. I only using digi images because you can resize them and my printers ink is awesome so it doesn't run at all. I don't remember the colors i used. SORRY!!!! I will probably do a weekly or twice weekly series on Copic coloring an image or a tutorial once i get better. Who knows how long that will be.

I was wondering if anyone is addicted to copics as much as me. I just ordered 69 MORE!!!!!!!!! I save up my money from selling kits and my kit club as well as my eBay items. You know how normally your most asked questions is "what kind of camera do you use" well mine is "How do you make all your money" LOL!!!! Well that's how i make all my money. Everything you have seen in my scrapbook room i have bought by myself. Ive probably spent over $2,000 in storage and everything to fill it up. But its one step at a time. I have to keep my room stocked with up to date products. I don't share nearly all the hauls i get with you all on Youtube because i would have like 6 a week. I order online all the time.

Wow i left the card mojo quite a bit for a moment there. Anyways i used some Kraft card stock for the base of the card. I cut it down to 11 x 4.25 inches and scored at 5.5 inches. All the paper is from the My minds eye tickled pink paper line. The stamp is a Heidi Grace stamp set. The scallop oval is not a nestibilities. Id rather use my cricut then buy those nestibilities and the gypsy makes it really really easy as well. The scallop oval is from the Storybook cart and the val is from the Plantin Schoolbook. The oval was cut in cream card stock and stamped with the lace background from Stampin Up. The scallop oval was cut in design paper. I did a bunch of inking with my favorite Brushed corduroy distress ink and some additional detail with sewing and a white gel pen.

I hope you all enjoy what i made and cant wait to talk to you next time!!

  1. Hey Drew! Great job on your first ever copic colouring!! Particularly the hair. I am so totally addicted to my copics and I even use them to create distress ink colouring as I find it a much easier medium to work with. Just a tip, make sure that once you work out which colours you are using the most ie, skin tones, browns, blondes, grey's etc you start stocking up in the refills as its a total bast**d when you run out!!! Especially once you are addicted! I layer quite heavily to ensure good blending, good shading and colour etc, so I go through them fairly quickly. Also make sure you get a colourless blender refill (preferably the large) soon too as it is one of the first to go!!. Don't you just love TGF by the way...they are one of my favorites. If you are wondering about the distressing technique I found a good tut on youtube. You can find the details on my blog http://tamalicreations.blogspot.comI will have to check out your haul to see what colours you got. Have fun with them :-)

  2. Great job, I really love the colors! Yes Copic markers tend to become addictive but well worth it since they are so versatile! If you haven't seen it yet try the 'I Like Markers' blog which is very helpful and full of great tips and links.

    Happy Scramping!
