Hey Everyone,
Long time no project from me HUH! Well, Today i have a really fun and unique project i made using some of the amazing Antiquities paper collection from Donna Salazar! This paper collection was just perfect for this vintage distressed dress form. Lets get to it!
{Sorry about the leaning photo but the right side had more jewelry}
So as you can see above i have a really vintage shabby jewelry stand for some of my jewelry i sell on my etsy store! The base of the dress form is a unfinished wood piece you can find at Michael's in the unfinished wood section for kids! The back side of the dress form has a fun little dot pattern meant for kids to use but i just used the plain wood side. Ill tell you how i did it! -
1. I stained the whole wood piece in the wood stain smooch spritz. I spritzed quite a bit in a small Dixie cup and added water. I then used a foam brush to stain it! I love the look of the dark wood!
2. The bottom layer of the skirt was made using the 12x12 Antiquities Collecton by GCD Studios. I used the paper that had the grayish grid and cut it into 3x3 squares (6 total) I then rolled them and glued them to the dress form. The top layer was also made with the Antiquities paper but it was cut to 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 (5 total) rolled up and glued in between the base rolls! I inked and distressed the edges as well!
3. I then cut some small pieces of tulle and glue them inside the bottom layer of rolls. The top layer has been stapled with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher for detail!
4. All the lace of the Bodess of the form was just random scraps from my stash! I cut a triangle out of the top webster pages lace for a more dressy feel! Some of the lace was spritzed with the Caramel Latte Smooch Spritz!
5. I used some brown Seam binding and tied a big fluffy bow!
6. I then took a sand file and sanded away some of the stain for a vintage look!
7. I finished it with a Prima Pearl Necklace and added some jewelry!
Here are some more photos of the detail!
I hope you all enjoyed my post for today and see you next month!
