Hiya,
So as many of you may know or think i am not a big card maker. I am awful, awful at making cards! For some reason i think cards need to be flat and mailable and i'm not good at working with flat as you may realize LOL! So i always find cards challenging which makes me not want to make them which in return makes me learn nothing about making them. So i thought last night i would make (2) 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 cards for fun using some scraps and flowers from my extra flower jar! This is what i came up with.
WARNING :: Dimension Ahead
and the second
I would love your opinion! I think i'm going to try and make cards more often as it was fun making these! I always get stuck though! Also don't forget to check out my vagabond giveaway!
I cant wait for CHA!
Love you all
Drew
These are both stunning, I struggle with this too. I saw a video by a very talented lady who made little cardstock boxes to put dimensional cards in for mailing, and that is also a lovely storage idea for something that I would consider a keepsake. TFS
ReplyDeleteCards look great! Just use a Puffy Envelope... truthfully I am NOT a cardmaker- I find people don't appreciate them and think Oh she made it- so I would rather make mini books and StUFF...
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEM. I only give cards like this to my friends who I know will appreciate them. THese are beautiful.
ReplyDeletewow drew ur even talented at making cards what u not do. danoland :)
ReplyDeleteAs with all your scrappy work, your cards are Awesome, Drew! I love all of the dimension and texture! Not all cards have to be mailed...you could always hand deliver your chunky cards- LOL!
ReplyDeletethe cards are gorge, what else can I say, you did an awesome job with them. I make some cards but only for special people, some are not worthy of so much work. I love your colors and grouping of everything on them. Great, beautiful, wonderful.
ReplyDeletewell you are a card maker now Drew...and wonderful at it...these two are beautiful. can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteIzabela
they are adoreable.. love the demension.. great...
ReplyDeleteThese are both amazing! Please, your not a card maker?
ReplyDeleteI love the dimension, you can always make an envelope with a little gusset and add a piece of bubble wrap to prevent the smashing.
Thanks for sharing

ReplyDeleteThat was me...nancyquilt
ReplyDeleteDrew you did a wonderful job! Most of my cards I make require extra shipping, but they are perfect to send along with packages. Love all the dimension!
ReplyDeleteAnitra
Hey Drew, I love your lumpy cards. You could send one my way any day and I'd take it gladly.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your cards. I'm with you on the cards being (nearly) impossible to make without a little fluff. I always seem to start out by saying the next card will fit into a standard envelope but, by the time I'm done with the card, I need to make a box for it....lol
ReplyDeleteHi! Just found your blog, you are super talented and I must say I am glad there is another boy scrapper in Cali!!! lol! You rock!
ReplyDeletehi Drew, i love your cards, you do a fabulous job on everything! you can still mail them just get a padded envelope from walmart or office supply place. they are beautiful and i dont know anyone that wouldnt just love getting one. i posted on youtube and on face book about your vagabond give away sure hope i win.
ReplyDeletelove you to pieces candy
Drew, I love these cards!! Making them used to give me fits as well, I had to "pretend" I was making a mini chunky layout instead LOL Making mini albums is still my fave though. You've got a great eye for details!
ReplyDeleteDrew,
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful! I especially love that you added watch parts to the second one!

What are you talking about??? If these aren't the most beautiful cards I have ever seen!!! Send them my way my friend f you need someone that will take them off you hands!! I would love to get one! Thanks for sharing your awsome talent!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. It would be nice if you held a contest to send these out if you could. I personally would be proud to display them in my craft room.
ReplyDeleteOh i love the first one with that ORANGE amazing..
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing
Stunning! So in love with the crocheted flowers you used...
ReplyDeleteDrew, your cards are fabulous! You should make them more often! Just use a puffy mailing envelope. The more dimension on a card, the better (in my opinion). I too only give cards to people who appreciate them. Can't wait to see more of your cards! :)
ReplyDeleteDrew, I have been making cards for several years now and I don't think I ever made a flat card. The more dimension the better I say. Your cards look fantastic to me. My family anticipates the next card they get from me and I try to deliver every time. It's getting harder to outdo myself, lol, so be careful of what you wish for. Once you start sending these they'll be crying out for more. Some of my family and friends have framed them, saying they're like mini works of art, so I feel very honored. Keep up the great work! ReplyDeleteThe cards are beautiful Drew.
ReplyDeleteI Love them Grew! Cards can be whatever you make them to be. I think bigger is better. ;0) 5x5 are a good size to do so you can chunk them up. If they need to be mailed it can just go in a little box. That's how I do it. TFS!
ReplyDeleteyou are wonderful and i love your cards
ReplyDeleteLovely cards Drew, you certainly have a huge talent. Cards can be whatever you desire, you just have to choose carefully who you give them to.
