Hello Lovelies, On Thursday I had a live Prima class and created the
altered journal cover I showed a while back on my blog. This was a highly requested video and since I used mostly Prima product I felt it was perfect for one of my classes. The class went amazing and I think it was one of my best classes. So many fun techniques shown throughout this class including masking, painting, highlighting and defining embellishments and much more. Thanks so very much for the people who came, supported & asked questions during the class. If you would like future updates for my classes please visit and like my
facebook page.
Giveaway Time!!! I am giving away one of the albums I created during the class. The photo above was the sample album I created which I have already started working in. The winner will receive the one created in the video above which I love just as much as this one. This journal has thick kraft pages on the inside for art journaling or scrapbooking. To enter this giveaway simply leave a comment with what classes you would like to see from me in the future!
xoxo Drew

Hi Drew,
ReplyDeleteI watched the show Thursday night and I must say, you rocked it. I think I heard a combined 'ohhh and ahhh' go around the world. Actually, anything you do for a class would be great. I learn so much when new product is used. That's why I love watching Prima on Thursday evenings. If I had to choose, I would say cards, tags and mini albums.(say 8x8??)
Keep smilin'

ReplyDeleteHi Drew! Class was so nice, you are so fun to watch and listen to:). So glad you are doing Prima, its the best! Love the journal cover, it is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteNewbe here. just watched and am shocked. I have not seem mixed media and I am thunderstruck. Thank you for the instructions. They are very clear. I appreciate the ease you make this seem. I would like it if you have the time to list the materials used as I am new to the different types of paints and mediums you have used. So you asked what I would like to see is more on what you would do next. To be a useable art journal I am wondering on how you would complete the inside of course using less textured materials but I am interested in different pages you would include for it to be a working art journal. Thanks again and oh of course I would relish this give away. It is quite lovely. Thank you.
ReplyDeletei love the album, is so beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteThis is the first class of yours that I've watched and I loved it and think I you're talented and a real cutie pie, to boot (don't worry, I'm probably old enough to be your granny). I'd like to see videos on tags, mini albums, or anything else you want to teach.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win one of the journals that you made.
Blaiz

Thanks so much for sharing. Your streaming was some of the best I have seen. What type of equipment are you using. Most others I tried to watch breakup. Just an A+ overall.

ReplyDeleteHi Drew. I would like to see a mixed media layout on a canvas.
ReplyDeleteMissed the class last week. Am so glad to find it recorded so I can see what I missed. Looking forward to it -- thank you to the inventors of Windows 7 - I can minimize it in the corner and watch while I work here in the office -- now to see all the lovely ideas. Thank you, Drew. Have a blessed day! (And thanks for the chance to win!)
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much and enjoyed everything that you do anyway so whatever you do it would be fine with me.

ReplyDeleteLOVE all the texture on this album! Would LOVE to win it! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome awesome journal! I haven't had the time to work on any altered art projects, but that made me want to break out the gesso and paint! I would love to see you make a mixed media canvas...that would be super cool!
ReplyDeleteLovely as usual, Drew! I love tags so I would love to see you make a set of tags that go together but aren't exactly the same.. Ooooo!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I would like to see a class on recycling containers to use as organizers :) Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm new watching so I don't know what kind of projects you do.
ReplyDeleteI love mini albums, tags and 3Ds most. What I'd really like to see are creative uses of the flat Prima flowers. I have a BUNCH but I always seem to end up using the ready made ones or make my own when it comes time to use them. I have all sizes and colors and they just sit in the jars and cans and tins.
I'm thinking that maybe I need to think out of the box - maybe using them as a base to tuck a picture behind or something.
I don't really like using the flat flowers by themselves (like you did on this album) but every time I have put them together I wasn't satisfied with the result either.
Can't wait to see another of your videos and explore your blog!
Hi Drew!
ReplyDeleteLoving your work and I can't wait for more mixed media inspiration from you ;)

Katia Petroni
great journal... love your style
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cover. Thanks for sharing the how-tos.
ReplyDeleteJust seeing this via a link on a yahoo group. Beautiful journal. I love the colors on the cover. I do have hint about the lighting. Working on white background should make anything you're working on brighter. The light reflects off the white and bounces light back down on the project. You do have to make sure it's a matte finish and the right distance away from the light source so there is no glare.
ReplyDeleteDrew, you are a sweetheart and an amazing artist. This is the first time I see your work. Thank you for the tutorial, it is awesome. Cannot wait to see more. Thank you
