Last night I was browsing on
Etsy when I ran across a dreamcatcher. I seriously sparked with inspiration at that very moment because I seriously love dreamcatchers. I never thought about making my own until I realized Etsy is a handmade marketplace and somebody was selling handmade dreamcatchers. I literally sprinted to my room and pulled out a huge box of wooden beads, lace, wire, cording, feathers and other random tid bits. I whipped this thing out in two hours and absolutely love the outcome of the piece. I think it is really natural and earthy which is what I was going for. Since I was unsure of how to weave the center I actually pulled a vintage doily from my stash which I think looks quite unique and even adds more of that handmade touch. What are your thoughts on this piece? I am addicted and after school tomorrow I plan on making a mini one for my keychain which I will share with you all of course.
it is delightful)

ReplyDeleteWow! Love this! I love the fact that you were so inspired that you made it then and there - in such a short amount of time too. It really is natural and earthy, which i don't think would've been created had you really planned it out!
