RECIPE :: Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies

posted on: 6.18.2012

OMG! I so want another one of those cookies right now. Of course these cookie/brownies were made prior to me posting this so I can say that! LOL. So me and my friend just got home from another friends house and we wanted to make some cookies. Luckily we had chocolate chips or else this post wouldn't exist! These cookie brownies were literally SO SO easy to make! I think they taste better than a normal cookie as well because they are a bit more dense and chewy which makes them more yummy in this case. Lets get started,

We simply used the recipe on the back of the "Nestle" chocolate chip bag. Easy enough. In case you don't have this brand of chocolate chips,  I have written the recipe below with our little alterations to make them a bit yummier :) At this point you can preheat your oven to 350ยบ

• 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. salt (we added a bit more)
• 1 cup {2 sticks} butter (softened)
• 3/4 cups granulated sugar
• 3/4 cups packed brown sugar (dark)
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract (we added 2)
• 2 eggs
• 1 full bag of those yummy chocolate chips (actually plain chocolate is gross)
    recipe adapted from nestle

Mix together some of the dry ingredients; Consisting of the flour, baking soda and salt. Place in a separate bowl and set off to the side for later, OK!

Next we need to cream some stuff! In a bowl add the :: Butter, Sugar, Brown Sugar and Vanilla. This will all be creamed together to create the "wet" half of the mixture {the bowl we set aside is the dry}.

All creamy now! We are set to start adding small portions of the dry ingredients into this wet mixture and mix until fully combined {approx. 3 portions :: add some dry, mix and repeat until all incorporated}

Don't forget the chocolate chips! Make sure to fold these in with a wood spoon or silicon spatchlur {I call a spatula a spa-chu-lur cause I'm weird}

So the truth comes out! We actually didn't plan making these cookie brownies! We were just going to make normal cookies but could only find 1 cookie sheet which would only hold about 6 cookies and we were WAY to lazy to wait 10 minutes each batch. That would be like 10 batches. So we were so clever and poured the rest of the batter {we made 6 normal cookies} into an 8x8 pan. We cooked the normal cookies for about 9-12 minutes and this cookie brownie thing for about 20-30 minutes. I wasn't really paying attention to the cook time because we just checked every 5 minutes until it was golden brown and delicious looking :)

So if your wondering why there are 2 chunks missing... BLAME MY FRIENDS! They grabbed some when I went poddy! Dont worry I yelled at them when I got back. Blogging Rule #7 :: Dont eat the food until it's photographed!
They were SUPER yummy! What is your favorite cookie?

  6. Haha! This post was great! Takes me back to messing around in the kitchen with my teenager buddies! So typical that shenanigans happen when one takes an innocent potty break! Lol! But, I think the photo with the 2 missing portions is more interesting than if it were a full pan! Now you can really see the oozy-gooey yumminess of those chocolate chips, and get a feel for how thick those...crownies? brookies?...really are! YUM! Oh, and semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies are my fave! And my second have cookie are called chocolate crinkles--very fudgy with powdered sugar. Drool!
